The Memecoin Disease
Cryptocurrency and the community behind it have become a disease. The rot is now so pervasive and widespread that it deserves to be categorized with a broad, sweeping brush stroke. Memecoins, once considered a fringe movement in the crypto periphery, are now a mainstream scourge.
Pump.fun: Epicenter of Memecoin Depravity
Pump.fun is the epicenter of memecoin depravity. In just 14 days, it processed $2.5 billion in volume with tens of thousands of tokens created daily. It’s a rigged casino for the lowest common denominator of gambling addict, attracting people to make money by racing to the bottom of human decency.
Tragedy Tokenized
On February 21, 2025, a memecoin was launched on pump.fun tokenizing a man’s death by suicide on a livestream. The sickening display pulled in millions as the “suicide” tag trended, with people using the tragedy for personal gain.
Memecoins Infect Politics
Memecoins have now infected politics at the highest levels:
- 48 hours before being sworn in as US president, Donald Trump launched a memecoin scam on Solana
- Melania Trump launched an even worse memecoin scam shortly after
- The Central African Republic launched a “unity” memecoin that cratered 99%
- Argentinian president Javier Milei promoted the Libra memecoin scam architected by Hayden Davis
100 Million Dollar Scam
The Libra token in Argentina, billed as boosting the economy by funding small businesses, turned out to be a $100 million insider scam. Milei now faces fraud investigation and possible impeachment, while in the US, the Trump scams weren’t even talked about by media.
Cryptocurrency is a Disease
Cryptocurrency and its community have become a disease. What started as fringe degenerate gambling is now a mainstream technique used by top politicians to directly harm their own citizens and supporters. The immeasurable damage continues to grow.
Time to Terminate Memecoins
Pump.fun and memecoins deserve to be terminated with prejudice. Harsh financial consequences should be levied against everyone involved, including sitting presidents. Without strong action, the rot will only continue to spread in this worst possible version of what the crypto industry has become.
