The Epstein Story: Where to Begin
Where do you even begin when talking about Epstein? Do you start when he got a job at the prestigious New York Dalton School despite having zero qualifications? Does it matter that the headmaster responsible for hiring him was Donald Barr, father of William Barr, who became Attorney General in Trump’s first term?
The story of Jeffrey Epstein is the story of Money, Power, Politics, and Drama – collectively the most addictive concepts in human history.
High-ranking officials like FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino signaled before their implementation that the Epstein story was a top priority. Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed “The Epstein List” was physically on her desk. Vice President JD Vance joked on podcasts about needing to release the Epstein List. Trump himself made explicit statements that if elected, he would release the list of clients and all surrounding files.
Spoiler alert: That didn’t happen. Instead of declassified files, bombshell revelations, or justice of any kind, we got a massive cover-up.
The Trump-Epstein Friendship
Epstein and Trump go way back as friends. They’ve been filmed together at parties. There’s audio of Epstein claiming to be Trump’s “closest friend for 10 years.” Trump himself said “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy.”
According to exclusive Wall Street Journal reporting, a supposed birthday letter reveals Trump allegedly saying: “We have certain things in common, Jeffrey,” later adding “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday, and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
Trump is now threatening to sue the Wall Street Journal for publishing the story, calling it a “Disgusting and Filthy Rag,” apparently unfamiliar with the Streisand Effect.
The 2002 Quote
In 2002, speaking to New York Magazine about Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump said: “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”
The Real Estate Falling Out
In 2004, the pair had a falling out over a real estate deal. They were each trying to purchase a mansion called Maison d’Amitié (ironically meaning “house of friendship”), aggressively outbidding and undercutting each other.
Trustee Joseph Luzinski recalls them saying things like “You don’t want to do a deal with him, he doesn’t have the money.”
Donald Trump eventually won, paying over $41 million for the property. The damage seemed done, and the two would never appear close again. Trump later sold the mansion just 4 years later to Russian billionaire Dimitry Rybolovlev through shell company Country Road Property LLC.
Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein appear to have ended their long-standing friendship over real estate in 2004.
The 2005 Sweetheart Plea Deal
This matters because shortly after in 2005, Jeffrey Epstein faced his first round of criminal trafficking and conspiracy charges in the Southern District of New York. The charges included specific allegations that girls were being trafficked to others, not just Epstein, with over thirty victimized young girls already in 2005.
Under supervision of Alex Acosta, US attorney for the southern district of Florida, Epstein was allowed to plead out of federal court, gaining immunity for himself and co-conspirators, then serving just 13 months in county jail.
When the house of cards finally tumbled down in 2020, it was found that this sweetheart plea deal was illegal. Alex Acosta broke the law in favor of Jeffrey Epstein.
The Intelligence Connection
Alex Acosta, after this deal, was appointed Secretary of Labor in Trump’s first term. When speaking about the Epstein case before selection, according to the Daily Beast, he said: “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone.”
The guy who cut Epstein loose, deliberately under-prosecuting him and shielding everyone involved from federal charges, broke the law when he did it, then claimed Epstein was an intelligence asset, after which he gets an appointed position in the first Trump Administration.
Virginia Giuffre and Mar-a-Lago
In 2007, Virginia Giuffre was approached by law enforcement after being identified as one of Epstein’s victims. Giuffre would become the tip of the spear in Epstein’s fall, and her bravery should be forever recognized.
Virginia Giuffre was recruited and groomed by Ghislaine Maxwell at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. Sixteen at the time, she was working there as a spa attendant only to get swept up in Epstein’s horrifying world.
Speaking with the BBC in 2019, she said: “I couldn’t comprehend how in the highest levels in the government powerful people were allowing this to happen. Not only allowing it to happen, but participating in it.”
The Katie Johnson Case
In 2016, Jane Doe versus Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein emerged. Jane Doe is actually Katie Johnson, and the lawsuit alleges horrible things against Donald Trump.
The case was dropped and re-filed multiple times, adding more witnesses between filings. Eventually the case was withdrawn voluntarily following significant threats against Katie Johnson, which caused her to abruptly retract from the public eye.
Trump’s legal team adamantly maintained nothing in the lawsuit was true and the entire thing was a complete fabrication.
Epstein’s Death and Discrepancies
July 2019, federal charges finally collide with Jeffrey Epstein. Alex Acosta is quickly forced to resign in shame. One month later, Epstein is dead, and the questions surrounding how are immeasurable.
The initial Office of Inspector General report states that right before Epstein died, he was given an unmonitored phone call for 20 minutes with his mother. Except his mother had been dead for 15 years. Jeffrey Epstein had a protocol-breaking, 20-minute secret conversation with someone in Belarus after telling guards it was his mom.
Video footage? Accidentally deleted due to technical problems. Guards monitoring prisoners? They fell asleep, then falsified reports. The idea that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself became widely disputed.
Surveillance Evidence
Another of Epstein’s victims came forward to CBS News claiming his properties had “extensive video surveillance” including pinhole cameras in practically every room. She described seeing monitors showing “toilet, toilet, bed, bed, toilet, bed” and men monitoring private moments.
The Flight Logs Lie
Look at this Truth Social post from 2024: “This is what the Democrats do to their Republican Opponent, who is leading them, by a lot, in the Polls. This is A.I., and it is very dangerous for our Country! Also, I was never on Epstein’s Plane, or at his ‘stupid’ Island.”
“I was never on Epstein’s plane” – That is a lie.
As part of Maxwell versus the United States, we actually got to see the flight logs. Donald Trump flew on Epstein’s plane seven separate times across just a couple years. One flight was literally only him and Epstein. No one else. Yet he is lying to the world with claims he never flew on the plane.
The Current Cover-Up
Just a couple years ago, practically everyone in his current administration was vocally demanding release of the Epstein files. Now they want you to stop talking about it.
As part of this cover-up, the administration released almost 11 hours of jail footage. But the footage doesn’t match the initial OIG report. A Wired investigation discovered the footage had been altered using Adobe Premiere Pro, and it wasn’t just one minute missing – three minutes were cut.
The claim was this was “raw” surveillance footage, but when you feed something into an editing program, cut 3 minutes out, and badly stitch it back together, that’s not raw footage. That’s a cover-up.
Additional Red Flags
- The State Department dismantled the team that combats human trafficking
- They fired the prosecutor of Ghislaine Maxwell’s case right as questions arose
- Trump called discussing Epstein a “waste of time” while talking about gold paint for molding
- Trump now claims Epstein files were “made up by Comey, Obama, and Biden” despite arrests happening during his administration
The Truth Social Meltdown
A now-deleted Truth Social post from Donald Trump reads: “The Radical Left Democrats have hit pay dirt, again. Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this bullshit hook, line, and sinker.”
It continues: “I have had more success in 6 months than perhaps any president in our country’s history, and all these people want to talk about, with strong prodding by the Fake News and the success starved dems, is the Jeffrey Epstein hoax. Let the WEAKLINGS continue forward and do the democrats work, don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore.”
That is a meltdown because practically his entire administration, even his family, advocated for and promised something which for some unknown reason he now doesn’t want to show.
The Five Stages of Cover-Up
We have cycled through multiple tactics in record time:
- “Release the files” – became a bogus PR stunt
- “The files don’t exist” – nothing to pursue, case closed
- “Stop caring about this” – when people refused to stop
- “OK fine, there’s files but Democrats made them” – it’s a hoax
- “You’re an idiot if you fall for it and I don’t want your support”
The Undeniable Connections
Epstein was arrested and basically let go in 2005. The man who helped make that happen went on to work in Trump’s first term. During the end of that term, Epstein was arrested and died, meaning the primary investigation all happened under Trump.
Trump used to be friends with him, allegedly weighed pardoning his co-conspirator, used the same lawyer as Epstein (Alan Dershowitz, who also represented OJ Simpson and Harvey Weinstein), and has flatly lied about flying on Epstein’s plane.
His name appears in Epstein’s “little black book” with 12 different phone numbers attached to it, and is circled – allegedly marking those who would “bring down the empire” if caught.
At the end of the day, this is a cover-up. It’s not a hoax, it’s not “boring,” and it certainly isn’t going to disappear just because Trump tells the world to forget. The Epstein cover-up has rapidly become Trump’s nightmare.
